FINDING LOVE OVER THE NET Chapter 2 That brings me to where I am now. Waiting for Brian to show up. He didn’t want me to pick him up at the airport, he was going to rent a car for the two weeks that he was here, he was also going to stay with me in the guestroom. His flight landed an hour ago, he should be here in ten minutes, I thought as I looked at the clock. The directions that I gave him were very clear. I went back to the couch and then after realizing that the CD had finished, I got back up and put in something to relax me. Millennium. I couldn’t help it, it relaxed me. I dropped my head on the back of the couch and closed my eyes. The guys had no problem with Brian coming on his own. In fact, they welcomed it. They told him to go and get over Leighanne. It was time, it had been four months since they broke up and he needed to get on with his life. During this trip I was hoping that Brian would confide in me and tell me what happened with Leighanne. He wasn’t ready to talk about when we first began talking. The sound of my doorbell brought me back to the present. I stood up, smoothed my jeans and T-shirt and walked to the door. This was it, the moment that I had been waiting for. Brian Littrell was standing on the other side of that door. Waiting for me. My hand reached for the doorknob and I felt an instant electric bolt go through me, as though Brian was touching the door on the other side. “Brian, you made it. Come on in.” I smiled opening the door. “Jade, it is great to finally meet you.” Brian said as he walked through the door placing a kiss on my cheek. I kept my back to Brian and raised my hand to touch the spot where he kissed me. My heart fluttered, he was even more handsome in person. “How was your flight?” I asked closing the door and turning to my guest for the next two weeks. “Long. But I am used to that. The ones from Florida to Europe are the killers.” He laughed. “Is there some place that I can put this stuff?” “Follow me.” I said and led him down the hall to his home for his stay here. “Welcome to your new home. There is lots of room in the closet and the dresser if you want to put anything away.” I stepped out the door, “The bathroom is down and to the left. I made some dinner, it is almost ready. When you are ready, come on out.” I left him then and went into the kitchen. I opened the fridge and pulled out the salad. Standing at my counter, I smiled, I was tossing a salad for Brian Littrell. He was in my quest room and would be for two whole weeks. I was still smiling when Brian came out. “These are from me and the guys. I hope that you like them.” He said holding out a package for me. “You didn’t have to do this Brian.” I whispered as I put the salad back in the fridge, I took the package from Brian and went to sit at the table. I quickly opened the box and smiled when I saw that the guys had all signed a T-shirt for me. There was that, plus a huge sweatshirt from the University of Miami, some press packets on all the guys and a genuine backstage pass from the recent tour. “Brian this is awesome. I love it.” I put the box on the floor and pulled out the sweater. I loved sweaters, the bigger the better and this one was huge. “This is perfect. How did you know that I loved sweaters?” I asked as I pulled the sweater over my head. “You told me one day in an e-mail. I just remembered.” Brian explained shrugging his shoulders. Just then the buzzer rang on the oven timer. “Dinner is ready.” I announced. We had a wonderful meal, Brian ate everything that was put in front of him. We talked all throughout the meal and learned even more about each other. Not once did we bring up Leighanne. When we were all done, Brian helped with the dishes and then we sat in front of the TV and relaxed. It has been a long day for Brian. His flight left Florida at 6:00 in the morning with a four-hour stop over in Utah. It wasn’t long before I heard his breathing slow. I glanced over and saw that he was sleeping. I let him be for a while and then once I was sure that he was really asleep. I gently laid him on the couch and put a blanket over him. It was still early for me, so I decided that rather than watch TV and bother Brian, I would go on the net and see what was new. I quickly hooked up and saw that I had e-mail from Hanka. I printed that off and started a reply. Once I was done with that a few hours later, I stretched and yawned. “I guess I better head to bed myself.” I closed off my computer and crawled into bed. When I woke in the morning, I stretched again. I crawled out of bed and headed for the kitchen. I jumped when I saw Brian sitting at the table reading the paper. He was wearing a pair of boxers and a simple grey T-shirt. He looked great. “Mornin’.” He smiled as he saw me. “Morning. How did you sleep?” I asked filling up the kettle for some tea. “Wonderful. It has been a long time since I slept that well.” Brian replied. “That’s great. You are well rested for today. We are going shopping at West Ed. There will be lots of places to hide should someone recognize you.” I laughed. “Did you want some tea?” “Sure that would be great. West Ed, that is the one with the Water Park and the Amusement Park, right?” “You bet.” I said as I took down two mugs for the tea. “We can go see both places if you want.” I walked over to the table with the mugs and the cream and sugar. I reached over Brian, accidentally brushing my arm against his. A bolt of electricity ran up my arm and shot through my heart. I looked up at him quickly, “Sorry.” I said. I grabbed the entertainment section and settled back into my chair. “Let’s just do one today. How about the Amusement Park. My treat. I am sure that you will spend enough money shopping.” Brian joked, remembering how I loved to shop. “Sounds good to me.” At that point the kettle started to whistle. I quickly got the tea seeping and turned back to Brian. “What would you like for breakfast?” “Anything, I am not picky.” Brian said absentmindedly. “Good, I like that in a house guest.” I laughed. I put the tea on the table and busied myself with making breakfast. Brian and I settled into a comfortable silence. It was nice to have someone else in the house for a change. Forty minutes later everything was ready. “Brian, are you hungry?” Brian turned around and smiled, “I am starved. It has been torture sitting here smelling this.” He laughed as he got up and helped me set the table. “This is wonderful.” Brian said after his first mouth full, “Will you come on tour with us and cook?” I threw my head back and laughed, “I would love it.” We finished breakfast, did the dishes together again and then I jumped into the shower and we both got ready for the day. Brian called his family while I finished and then we headed to the mall. I was a little surprised when I saw that Brian had rented a dark green Jaguar to drive us around in. “You know Brian, as much as I love Jaguar’s, I think a less exotic car would have been better.” I joked as he opened the door for me. “No way. We are going to arrive everywhere in style. Besides, I have always wanted to drive a Jag.” Brian started her up, she purred just like the cat she was named for. “I need to stop at the bank first, see how much money I have and then we get on with the shopping.” I announced as I gave Brian directions to the bank. We had a wonderful day together at the mall. And surprisingly, there were very few people who recognized Brian. They were a couple of kids, but for the most part, Brian was just another average person shopping. He managed to buy a lot of clothes for himself. Stuff for his family and even some stuff for the other guys. I had to hold back on what I wanted, but I managed to get a few articles of clothing. Brian suggested that we go to the Hard Rock Café for dinner. As usual everything was perfect. Brian was relaxed, not thinking about Leighanne and having a great time. He was laughing and smiling all the time. Brian was finally starting to get over her. It was just after ten when we got back to the townhouse. I checked the machine for messages and laughed when I saw that there was one. I checked the call display first and yelled out to Brian. “Hey Brian, there is a message here, I betcha it is the guys.” I hit the play button just as Brian walked back into the room. “Hey B-Rok! It’s us!” All the guys yelled into the phone. “Just wanted to make sure that you made it okay.” Howie started. “Hope you are having a good time and forgetting about what’s her name.” AJ put in. “Bone, we weren’t supposed to mention that. That is why he is there, to forget. B-Rok, it’s Nick, missin’ you down here. We are working our butts off, wish we had time for a holiday.” Nick put in. You could hear all the guys agreeing. “Cuz, it’s me, hope everything is well. Call us if you are not too busy relaxing.” Kevin added. Then they all came on again, “We love you Bri!” “Gotta love those guys.” Brian said. “I would love to meet the rest of them. You know, my life revolves around what you guys do.” I told him as I headed for my room. Brian followed me, “Well the next tour that we have you will have to come to one of the shows. I can get you in no matter what. I have connections.” He joked. “I’m sure you do. But can you get those connections to make sure that you come to my city. Look how many dates you had for the Into The Millennium tour. I was a little choked that you did only three dates in Canada.” I explained as I tossed my bags on the bed and then went back to the kitchen. “You know what, I suddenly have a craving for some nachos, do you want some?” I asked Brian. “Absolutely. I can always eat, especially cheese.” He laughed. “What can I do to help?” I was at the fridge pulling out a package of ground beef, “Why don’t you start to cut some green onions.” I opened the fridge door and pulled them out tossing them at Brian. “I don’t get to grate the cheese?” He whined playfully. I looked at him, “With how much you love it, not a chance, baby.” I reached up to my cupboard and pulled out the food processor. “Besides, with this, it takes me two seconds.” I got the rest of what we would need out of the fridge and the pantry and handed Brian all the little things to cut up. “I’ve missed these kinds of things.” Brian said suddenly. “What?” I asked “Making nachos at ten thirty at night. Most times, I am still shaking my butt on stage for thousands of girls. Or we are on the bus on our way to the next city in the dark, never really seeing anything.” “It can be rough, eh?” I wondered. Brian nodded his head as he reached for the tomatoes, “Yeah, but you get used to it. That’s part of why I suggested coming here. To see you, forget Leighanne and hopefully see a little more of Edmonton than I did the last time that we were here.” I smiled up at Brian, “Well then we will have to take a trip out to the mountains and show you what Alberta is really about.” I looked around and grabbed a frying pan so that I could cook the meat. “I haven’t done this is such a long time. This is great.” “You know Jade,” Brian started, “I have only been here a day and I all ready feel as though she has started to leave my heart.” I looked over at Brian, he was leaning against the counter facing me, his arms crossed. It was all I could do to not run over and kiss him. But that was the last thing that he needed. Instead, I walked over and stood beside him in the exact same pose, “That’s great, then I guess the whole reason why you came is working. It’s been a long road, but I knew that you would make it.” Brian reached his arm around my shoulders and pulled me to him for a hug. I was in heaven. I had never told Brian that I was in love with him, he knew that I was a fan of their music and everything, but I figured that it was better for our friendship that he didn’t know. I didn’t want him to let go, but I could smell that the meat was going to burn. I put my hands on Brian’s chest and gently pushed away. I gazed into his eyes and thought that I saw a flicker of something more. But it was gone just as fast as it was there. “I better get back to that meat.” I whispered and turned away. I breathed heavily as I stirred the meat around in the pan. “This is ready. Do you have the other stuff all done?” “Yes ma’am. Bring in it on over.” Brian said. Brian had all the tacos laid out on the plate and was waiting for the meat. I brought the pan over and sprinkled the meat on top. As I was putting the pan in the sink, Brian spread the rest of the food over that. Just as I was turning around, I saw him put a handful of grated cheese in his mouth. “Brian.” I said sternly. “Yes.” He replied with a mouthful of cheese. “That is supposed to be for the nachos.” I chided. Brian looked at me with guilt written all over his face. “I’m sorry. I just couldn’t resist.” I laughed as we put the nachos in the oven and I started to run a sink full of water to do the dishes. Brian grabbed a towel and dried. As I was washing the bowl for the processor, it slipped out of my hand and splashed some water on Brian. He looked up at me, “You did that on purpose.” I smiled, “I did not.” A second later I scooped up some water and splashed it on Brian. “That I did on purpose.” Brian stood shocked for about two seconds, then he scooped up some water and splashed me. I dropped the bowl and stood back from the sink, “Brian.” I hoped that what I was giving him was a hurt look. It worked, as Brian took a step toward me, to apologize, I reached my hand into the sink and splashed Brian right in his face. I started to laugh as Brian sputtered and wiped his face. He stood straight up and looked at me, “This means war.” He announced. He jumped ahead and put his hand in the sink, splashing me with a huge wave of water. “Ahhh!” I yelped trying to jump away. However I slipped on the water and fell with a thud onto the floor. Brian came to my side and tried to help me up. When he held out his hand, I grabbed it and pulled him down, making sure that he landed right in the puddle of water. He was up in a second and pounced on me, straddling me, holding my arms down. “That wasn’t very nice.” He said, his face inches from mine. “And you splashing me was a nice thing. You made me fall.” I whined pretending to cry. Brian grew serious, “You’re not hurt are you?” I shook my head as I noticed the concern in his eyes, “I’m fine. My pride is hurt more than anything.” “That’s good, I wouldn’t want to have anything to happen to you.” His lips were now millimeters from mine. Maybe this would be a good time to tell him how I felt. “Brian, I ...” I trailed off just as his lips were about to touch mine. We both started to close our eyes, Brian’s lips lightly grazed mine just as the buzzer went off on the oven. The moment was broken. I opened my eyes to see Brian staring at me. “I’m sorry.” I whispered. “For what?” He asked as he got up and reached out a hand to help me up. The timer on the stove buzzed with annoyance. I brushed myself off and reached over to turn it off. “You didn’t come here to be hit on.” I said as I grabbed the oven mitts and pulled the nachos out. As soon as I set them down on the counter, Brian grabbed my arms and turned me toward him. “Jade, I wouldn’t have kissed you if I didn’t want to.” He replied and placed his lips on mine. I melted. I knew that I should pull back, but his lips were so soft and he was such a good kisser. My arms went around his body, marveling at the feel of him through his sweater. His tongue swept across my lips asking silently for passage and gaining an instant answer. We learned every bump and taste of one another right there in my kitchen, our nachos forgotten. Gracefully, Brian picked me up and carried me to my bedroom. There was a small voice in the back of my head that said I should stop what I was doing, but the bigger voice and my heart, told me to forget it. Ever since I first saw Brian, I have wondered what it would be like to make love with him. I wasn’t going to turn this chance away. Brian placed me on my bed and pulled back just a little. “Do you want me to stop?” he asked quietly. I shook my head, afraid that if I tried to speak nothing would come out or maybe something rational would. I looked at Brian, I am sure with as much love as I had for him. He lightly trailed his fingers down my face, his lips met with mine again. He was over me with just the slightest pressure on my legs. I reached my hands around and pulled his sweater away from his body and over his head, running my hands back down the front, lightly over his scar from his surgery. Tears welled up in my eyes as I remember how worried I was that day. As they escaped my eyes, Brian kissed them away. Brian made a path from one corner of my eyes to the other, leaving hot, wet kisses behind. I had never experienced anything like this before. Brian pulled at my own sweater as I wiggled around on the bed. He got it over my head and smiled when he saw that my bra was a front clasp, therefore making it easier for him. “I like the front ones.” He whispered as he expertly flicked his fingers over the clasp. I breathed in sharply as the cool air danced over my flesh. I moved my arms around and managed to get out of the straps and throw it on the floor. Brian met my lips again as I reached for him. I pulled him down so that I could feel his skin on my skin. It was more than I had imagined. He was so soft and warm, it made me tingle to the tip of my toes. Somehow, Brian had moved us so that we were closer to the head of the bed. He slid down and placed more kisses every where that my flesh was exposed. I wrapped my hands through his hair, keeping him as close to me as was possible. He tugged lightly at the buttons on my jeans. Thank God for button fly! Within seconds, Brian had my jeans off. He began to kiss and nibble at my legs, working his way up to my thighs. He didn’t know it yet, but he was driving me insane with desire. I felt his fingers gently start to rub me where it mattered the most. I hadn’t looked at Brian since he moved us up to the head of the bed. I slowly opened my eyes and gazed down at Brian. He was smiling as he watched the waves of pleasure play out on my face. When he noticed that I was holding back, he snaked his fingers under my panties and pulled them off. He gently pushed my legs farther apart granting him complete access. I pushed back into the pillows as he drove me over the edge. The ride seem to last forever, but eventually it subsided and I lay in the center of the bed catching my breath. I looked over at Brian and grinned, “There are two things that I want to say to you.” “And they would be?” He asked with interest. “The first is, you are amazing.” I whispered as I rolled over so that I was now half on top of Brian and half still on the bed. “And the second?” I grinned as I slid my finger down his chest, stopping at his jeans. “You are slightly over dressed for the occasion.” I dug my finger into the top of his jeans, popped the button and in one swift move had the zipper down and was pulling his jeans off. “I was wondering when you were going to get around to doing that.” He whispered as he pushed me back and gently crawled over me. In one movement, Brian thrust himself into me, causing me to gasp with delight. It took us a minute to find our rhythm together, but once we did, it was like we had been together for years. Brian knew what he was doing, he knew just the right time to push harder or ease off. I felt my ride again before I could stop it, I wanted Brian to have some of this feeling that I was having. But he surprised me by reaching the top of his ride before me. His breathing changed as the waves overtook him. I pulled him close to me and felt him shudder with pleasure. I squeezed my muscles together and drained everything out of Brian that I could. He collapsed on top of me, his breathing heavy. After a minute he rolled over and cooled off. I got out of bed and walked to the kitchen. This was not what I had in mind when I said that Brian could stay with me. I grabbed a couple of drinks and the nachos, putting it all on a tray. I walked back to the bedroom, happy to notice that Brian was still in my bed. I smiled at him, “I thought you may want something to eat.” I crawled on the bed carefully with the tray and placed it between Brian and me. He picked up his glass and smiled at me. I reached for my own glass and looked at Brian, “You know Brian, this isn’t what I had in mind when I said that you could come and stay with me. This is the last thing that you need.” I confessed. Brian shook his head, ”You know what, this is exactly what I needed. I mean, to be honest with you Jade, I was hoping that this would happen. What I wasn’t expecting was that I was gonna have these feelings.” I didn’t hear the last part of Brian’s statement, I stared at Brian, “What do you mean? You were coming here with the intent to get laid?” I could feel the anger building. “No, no. What I meant was, since we started talking, I have felt a connection with you. Like you are a person that I want to be with. I think it was a good thing that we met over the internet first. Obviously you knew what I looked like, but you didn’t have to worry about me judging you for your looks. Like I had to worry about you liking me because of who I was. I was curious, I wanted to know what you looked like. That is part of the reason why I suggested this.” Brian explained. He moved the tray out of the way and bent toward me, “I am falling in love with you Jade.”
