SHINING STAR Chapter 16
*Later That Night* Danielle sat in her hotel room playing the track Shining Star over and over on the stereo. Tears fell down her face as she laid on her bed listening and seeing the image of the night before playing in her head when he sang to her. She was interrupted when someone knocked on the door. She got up quickly and turned the stereo down and wiped her eyes then walked over to the door and opened it. “Barry, hey”, Danielle said putting a fake smile on trying to act normal. “Hey, I came to see if you wanted company or something. I heard about what happen the other night. You doing alright?”, he asked. “Oh yeah, I bet it’s all over the news. Yeah I’m fine, but I just wanna be alone right now”, Danielle answered. “Ok I thought you would say that, I just want you to know if ya ever need to talk, I’m here. And even though I doubt you wanna see anything else, my friend recorded this thing on MTV news and I thought you might want to borrow it to know what’s being said” “Thanks Barry”, Danielle replied as she took the tape and gave him a quick hug and he left soon after that. Danielle looked at the tape in her hand. “Great, oh well lets get this over with”, Danielle mumbled to herself as she went over and put the tape in and push play. She listened quietly. As soon as it was over she had a shocked statement on her face. “Oh god Nick’s gonna really think I’m having an affair with Barry. God damn freaking MTV NEWS!!!”, Danielle cried as she took the tape out and threw it into the wall as she dropped down on her knees. About an hour later Danielle made herself back up and walked over to the phone. She knew she had to do something, but she didn’t know what to say. She dialed Nick’s cell phone number and waited as it began to ring. *On The Tour Bus* Nick was in his bunk fast asleep as the others were in the back of the bus hanging out when they heard a cell phone ringing. They all checked theirs and then saw it was Nick’s cell phone ringing. “I’ll answer it for him”, Brian agreed as he picked it up and turned it on, “Hello?” short pause “Brian?” “Yeah who’s this…Dani?” “Yeah it’s me, can I talk to Nick”, Danielle asked. “Oh you wanna talk to Nick now instead?”, Brian said in a harsh voice. “Please” “I’m sorry Nick is asleep”, Brian said as she turned the cell phone off. Danielle then heard the dial tone, she placed the phone down as a single tear fell down her face. “Nick, I really do need you”, she whispered to herself as she began to fall asleep. Nick sat in the big stadium early that morning, it was very silent as he was the only one left in the place. He looked down at the stage, his eyes were blood shot, he kept thinking about how Dani said no to his proposal and then ran off. He was interrupted in his thought when he saw a woman walked down around the lower floor. He concentrated more to make out who it was, Danielle. His eyes widened and he could feel like his heart stopped a beat. Danielle walked closer to the stage, she laid her hand down on the stage and moved it around thinking about that night. Nick immediately took off from the higher section he was at down to where she was. Danielle soon felt this bad feeling about something. Before she knew it someone under the stage reached out and grabbed her legs and pulled her underneath covering her mouth and tying a bandana over her eyes. She tried to struggle and scream but her attempts failed as this person tying her legs and arms with rope and then duck taped her mouth. Nick ran down to the lower level and up to the stage area. He looked around and saw no sign of Danielle. But he heard noises coming from underneath the stage. “Danielle?!”. Nick started to look under and brought his head back out quickly as he saw a guy in all black run. Nick quickly got scared as he knew that was most likely that stalker guy. He crawled underneath the stage and found Danielle laying there helpless with her clothes all torn off and tied up and crying. Danielle woke up in a cold sweat in her bed and sat up really fast as tears streamed down her face, “Oh god, please don’t tell me that guy is in this state now after me” Nick
woke up really fast and fell out of his bunk breathing heavily. “I
gotta get to Dani, this tells me that creep is after her, I know it.”
