SHINING STAR Chapter 12
Danielle
sat in one of her college classes as her teacher talked she thought
about some stuff. "What am I doing in college, I don’t have no
use cause I don’t even know what I want to do, and I can’t pay for
this by myself", Danielle said to herself. Then she made a
decision, she grabbed her book bag and got up to leave. "Excuse
me, where do you think your going?", the teacher asked. "I’m
leaving. I don’t want to be in college anymore", Danielle told
her and left before she could say anything. Danielle walked down the
walk to her college locker. She grabbed all her stuff out of her locker
and left out to her car. She sat there for a moment, as she broke down
in tears. All her life she wanted to be successful in something but she
never lived up to it. "I
got a boyfriend that has the life of doing something he loves and I’m
just here and his girlfriend with nothing to do in life", she
sighed as she wiped her tears away and started her car. Danielle ended
up driving to a local hot spot in her town, a lot of important people
were seen there sometimes, but other then that it was a big hang out.
Danielle walked in as she was greeted by a friend that worked there and
lead her to a seat. "What
can I get for ya Dani?", He asked. "Umm
can I just have some hot cocoa?", Danielle asked. "Yea
sure, it’ll be up in a few", He responded as he took her menu and
left to the back room. Danielle sighed to herself again as she took out
a newspaper out of her purse and opened it to the classifieds for jobs.
She looked up to see not many people in the place except for this one
businessman type guy that kept looking up at her. Danielle ignored it as
she looked back down at the jobs. "God
all these jobs suck", she said out loud to herself. "Maybe
I have one that you would like then", a guy said. Danielle looked
up to see the business man that she saw before standing there. "What
do you mean?", Danielle asked curiously and desperate for some
money since the rent on her and Ashley’s house was coming up. The guy
sat down in the booth and cleared his voice and sat down a briefcase on
the table and opened it up. "Well
let me introduce myself first", the guy laughed, "I’m Rob
Smith, I’m a talent agent for new faces in the movie business" "Wow",
Danielle answered, "It’s nice to meet you, I’m Danielle
Patterson" "Likewise.
Now down to business there’s this new movie current looking for a
leading women actor, someone new", He explained to her. "Could
you tell me a little about this movie?" "Yes,
it’s called Falling In Love With You, it’s about this girl and guy
that grew up together as friends till the start of high school. The girl
hung out with different people and then when she goes off to college she
ends up going to the same college as him and they run into each other a
couple times talking about their relationships. She was always having
these bad relationship and he was in a long distance relationship that
wasn’t going anywhere. They spend a lot of time together and realize
how much they are falling for each other. It should be a bit hit for a
love story", He told her. "Wow
yes it sounds really interesting, who’s the other lead actor?",
she asked. "Well
it’s Barry Watson, the guy from 7th Heaven", He told
her. She
smiled, "Kewl, so your saying you want me to play the part. I mean
you haven’t heard me act or anything before" "Yes
I want you to play the part, and I’m pretty sure the director will
love you, you will have to do a little audience nothing really big. So
would you like to do this?", he asked. "Would
I? Yes I would love to", Danielle answered excited "Ok
great let me give you these things, here’s my number. If you could
call me tomorrow I could get you set on a plane as soon as possible,
that is if your not busy", he told her. "No
I’m not busy at all, great thanks", Danielle said. "Well
then I must be going I got another appointment", he said as he got
up, "But this is bothering me your name sounds so familiar, like
I’ve heard my daughter say it before" Danielle
smiled, "Well does she like the Backstreet Boys?" "Yes
she’s obsessed", he laughed. "Well
I’m Nick Carter’s girlfriend", she answered. "Oh
yea I remember now, man my daughter would die for an autograph from
them" "Well
that would be nothing that hard, plus I owe you for being this nice to
me and giving me a great opportunity. But since they are on tour I bet I
could get her a couple tickets to a concert near her and backstage
passes", Danielle replied. "Wow
that would be great. Thank You" "No
problem, and no thank you, so I call you tomorrow. Bye", Danielle
said to him as he nodded his head and left the place. As Danielle sat
down her hot cocoa was brought to her. "Oh
Mike sorry, but could you just pour this into something so I could take
it to go", she asked. "No
prob Dani", Mike nodded and came back a minute later and handed her
the hot cocoa to go. "Thanks
Mike, later", Danielle waved as she left back in her car back to
her house. *Back
At The House* As
Danielle walked in she was greeted by Ashley who was talking on the
phone. "Hey
Dani, it’s for you it’s Nick", Ashley told her as she handed
her the phone. "Thanks",
Danielle smiled as she took the phone up to her room. "Hello?" "Hey
Sweetie, how was college today?" "Oh
well Nick I have a few things to tell you" "What?" "I
dropped out of college, and the greatest thing happened to me at the café
afterwards. This talent agent guy offered me a role in this new upcoming
movie, I get to play lead role along with Barry Watson. Then he said
that he knew me from somewhere and I told him about you, he’s daughter
loves you guys so I was hoping maybe you could give me a couple concert
tickets and backstage passes since he done this for me?", Danielle
explained in one big breath. "Woah
man that’s great, I’m so happy for you. But are you sure you want to
drop out of college and yes I can get you those tickets for you" "Yeah
I mean of course I’m gonna take this opportunity and well college is
out, Nick I don’t have the money for college or enough right now to
pay my half of rent with Ash. I need a nice job like this" "Danielle
why didn’t you tell me that, I would help you out", Nick told
her. "No
Nick that would be too much, I don’t want you paying for my
college" "You
put up a hard fight", Nick laughed, "Do you want to catch a
plane to Kentucky for the night so we can see each other tonight?" "Yea
that would be nice", Danielle smiled. "Ok
good get to the airport now cause I already have everything set up, your
flight takes off in a hour", Nick told her. "How’d
you know that I would come, I might have been busy", Danielle
laughed. "Oh
I just know these things, so go get ready and I’ll see ya in a few.
Love ya babe" "Bye honey, luv ya too", Danielle replied before she hung up the phone.
