NINTENDO ANYONE? Chapter 3
I woke up myself about two hours later, desperately needing to use the bathroom. I tried to sit up and noticed that Nick had me wrapped in his arms. I remembered him getting up before me and figured that he forgot I was in his bed. I climbed out slowly so I wouldn’t wake him. There was a smile as bright as the lightening from the night before on my face. I had spent the night with Nick Carter. A dream come true. I got off the bed and looked around for the sweats I borrowed from Nick. Once I realized they were still in the guestroom, I checked to make sure that everything was covered. “Nick and I are the only ones here anyway.” I said quietly. I opened the door and stepped right into Kevin and Howie. “Oh shit.” Kevin and Howie looked at me, “Hi.” They both said with obvious question. “Hi, uhm ... Nick is still sleeping. I ... uh ... was just going to use the bathroom.” I walked toward the bathroom leaving Kevin and Howie staring after me. I disappeared into the bathroom, closing the door just as they made their way into Nick’s room. “Oh my God.” I whispered as I sat down on the ledge of the tub. “They are going to think I am a horrible person. They have never seen me before. They are going to think I am here with Nick because of who he is.” I got up and started walking around the bathroom. “Of course you are. Admit it Kielly, if it had been just your average everyday person playing Nintendo yesterday, you wouldn’t have gone anywhere with him. But it just so happened to be Nick Carter of the Backstreet Boys. A guy that you have been in love with for months now.” I sat back down on the tub. “You have to tell them that nothing happened. You can’t leave this house with them thinking something happened with you and Nick when nothing did.” I ignored the little voice in the back of my head that was telling me something did happen. I did my stuff and then slowly opened the door, just to make sure that Kevin and Howie weren’t in the hallway. I walked quickly back to Nick’s room and opened the door. Kevin, Howie, Brian and Nick all looked up at me. “Hi guys.” I said. Nick jumped up and came over to me. “Uhm Kielly. This is Kevin, Howie and Brian. Guys this is Kielly.” He finished and led me over to the bed. I sat down beside Nick and pulled the covers over myself. “Hi, it’s nice to meet you. I just wish it had been under different circumstances. I am a big fan.” I said reaching out to shake all their hands. “I was just telling the guys how we met and what happened last night.” Nick explained. I looked around at the others, “You must think I’m incredibly crazy. Leaving a place with someone I hardly knew and then spending the night with them. I can assure you I don’t do these things.” I gushed. “Nick explained what happened. Brian and I were stuck at the airport all night.” Kevin said. “That must have been fun. Like you guys don’t spend enough of your time in the airports.” I laughed. “No kidding.” Howie agreed, “So Nick says you are here with a couple of friends. What are you up to today?” “Oh God, I should call them. They are going to be sick with worry.” I looked around Nick’s room for a phone. “You’ll have to use the one downstairs.” Nick said. “Okay.” I threw the covers off and jumped off the bed. I ran downstairs, looking for the phone. “Good Morning Hilton.” The desk clerk said. “Yes room 234 please.” I asked. A second later Tara picked up. “Hello?” “Tara? It’s Kielly.” “Kielly? Where the hell are you? Michelle and I have been worried sick. When you didn’t make it back last night before the storm we thought something bad had happened to you.” Tara said to me. “Hey Mich, it’s Kie.” She yelled away from the phone. Within seconds, Mich was on the phone. “Kie, where the hell have you’ve been? And who the hell is Nick Carter? There is only one Nick Carter that I know.” I laughed, I wished I could be in the room with them when I told them. The looks on their faces would be absolute Kodak moments. “Well, Mich, I am with four fifths of the Backstreet Boys.” I said proudly in to phone. Tara and Michelle both screamed. “You spent the night with Nick Carter?” Tara asked. “I did. We met at the stadium. He was playing a game against someone. He lost and when he left he bumped into me, almost knocked me down. We talked for a minute and then there was a crowd of girls that noticed him. He needed to run, he took me with him. We got to his house before the storm. We talked, played some Nintendo and then the power went out. We kissed, had some dinner, talked and then went to bed.” I knew the kiss would keep them interested. “You kissed Nick Carter? How was it?” Tara asked. “Did you french?” Michelle questioned as only she could. “It was fabulous. And no we didn’t. But I haven’t gotten to the best part yet.” I paused for effect. “You guys know how I am with thunder, right?” “Yeah.” They both said. “Well after Nick showed me to the guest room, he went to his own room. I tried to go to sleep but the thunder just kept coming. Finally I couldn’t take being alone anymore, I was going to go to Nick. I went out into the living room. Just as I was about to turn back and not be such a baby, there was a loud crack of thunder. I ran up the stairs two at a time reaching Nick’s door just as he was coming to check on me.” I stopped to make sure that no one was walking in on me. “What, Kie? Don’t just stop like that.” Michelle said. I lowered my voice, “I couldn’t take being alone anymore. I asked Nick if I could sleep with him in his room. He said sure and that he would just sleep on the floor. Well, it was great, having Nick so close it calmed me down some how. I fell asleep and when Nick got up to go to the bathroom he forgot that I was in his bed. We slept in the same bed.” I whispered. Tara and Michelle both screamed. “Did he say anything when you woke up this morning?” Michelle asked. “No, I woke first. When I left the room to go to the bathroom, I ran right into Kevin and Howie. When I came back, he was in there talking with them and Brian.” I explained. “Which brings me to my next question, what are we doing today?” There was silence on the other end of the phone, “Nothing real important. Why?” I heard the guys coming down the stairs, “I’m not sure yet. I will call you guys’ back in a bit. Don’t leave the hotel.” I ordered and hung up the phone. “Hi guys, let me get some pants on and I will make you all breakfast.” I ran to the guestroom and pulled Nick’s sweats on. Casually I walked back to the kitchen. “So what do you guys want for breakfast?” “You guys, she is a great cook. Surprise us Kielly.” Nick said as he came to my side, putting his arm around my waste. “You got it.” I smiled up at him and turned toward the fridge. I was in luck, the ingredients were there for me to make my infamous breakfast. Scrambled eggs, French toast, bacon and toast. “So Kielly, how are you and your friends liking Florida?” Brian asked from the table. “Well, to be honest, when they told me that we were coming to Florida, I was excited. Then they told me that we were going to be spending most of our time at the Nintendo championships, I wasn’t thrilled about coming.” I started as I was breaking eggs into a bowl. “Too bad Nick.” I heard Howie say quietly. I pretended that I didn’t hear as I saw Nick stare daggers at Howie. What was that all about? “But then when I ran into Nick, things got better. We basically were just going to bum around today. I was hoping in talking Ra and Mich in to going to the beach today.” I finished. “Why don’t we send a car for them and you guys can hang out here for the day?” Kevin suggested. “How much longer are you guys here for? We don’t want to take all your sightseeing time.” “We are going back home in three days. And I am sure that they would rather hangout here than some beach or mall.” I said trying not to show my excitement at spending the day with Nick. “You’ll miss the opening date of the tour.” Nick said. “Did you think about coming to see us in Toronto?” “As long as I can afford the plane ticket, I will be there. If that’s okay. You’ll just have give me some way of getting a hold of you.” I looked at Nick across the kitchen, his stare sent shivers up my spine. “No problem.” Nick smiled back. “Hey Kielly, why don’t you give me the number for your friends, I’ll call them and invite them over.” Howie said. “Mich will die. You are her favorite.” I told him as he reached for the phone. I gave him the number to the hotel, “You better ask for room 235, that way Michelle will answer the phone.” As I continued with breakfast I watched Howie, Michelle was going to be so happy. “Hi Michelle ... this is Howie D.” Howie held the phone away from his ear as Michelle screamed. I started to laugh. “Kielly tells me that you guys aren’t up to anything, why don’t you and ...” Howie looked up at me. “Tara.” I said. “Why don’t you and Tara come on over, we will hang out here.” He finished. Michelle said a few words and then Howie spoke again, “Kevin and I will come to get you guys. We will leave right now, by the time that we get back Kielly should have breakfast ready.” A few minutes later he hung up and turned to me. “She is definitely happy.” He stood up and grabbed his keys off the counter, “Let’s go Kev.” “Hey Kevin, be careful of Tara, she is in love with you!” I called as they walked out the door. “Well, I guess I better make more food if Ra and Mich are coming.” I laughed after they left. I went back to the fridge for more eggs. Nick came up behind me, “Do you need any help?” I shook my head, “No that’s okay. I got it under control. Thanks.” I said and went back to the counter. Nick leaned against the one side, Brian had left to call Leighanne. “So you will try and make it to Toronto?” “Yeah, I haven’t seen you guys in concert yet, it will be cool.” I admitted as I started the French toast. “You haven’t?” Nick asked. “Well, the first time that you guys came to Edmonton, I wasn’t a fan. And well you know how the Millennium schedule went. This will be great. Tara and Michelle will be so jealous.” I laughed. “We can get them tickets too.” He smiled. “That would be great. Uhm, I know that this is probably impossible, but will I get to see you in Toronto?” I asked shyly. I didn’t want to say goodbye to Nick. “Yeah, you just get there early in the morning. I think we actually have two days there so we can spend the day together.” He promised. We smiled at each other across the stove. What more could I ask for? I had spent most of the previous day with Nick and now today. If I was lucky, maybe the next two days and then I just had to wait three months until the Toronto show. Nick left me at that point and went to clean up. Brian finished his conversation with Leighanne and went to his room. I was alone to finish breakfast. I had to keep my thoughts on what I was doing and not on what I wanted to do. Which was join Nick upstairs. Just as Nick and Brian were coming into the kitchen, Kevin and Howie arrived with Tara and Michelle. “Hey guys.” I said as they walked into the house. “Kie, can we talk to you for a second?” Michelle asked. I looked around me, making sure that everything was ready and could be left alone for a few minutes. I knew what they wanted to talk to me about. “Sure. Gentleman, would you excuse us for a minute? You could set the table if you wanted.” I suggested as I walked past Nick. Tara and Michelle lead me out to the back yard. The second that the door was closed we jumped around hugging each other and screaming. “I sat this close to Howie the whole way here.” Michelle said holding her fingers together to emphasize just how close. “I am in love.” she breathed. “Kevin is even handsomer in person.” Tara whispered to me. “I can’t believe that I am here with them.” “You can’t believe it. You guys, in the matter of twenty-four hours, I met Nick Carter. Kissed Nick Carter. Had dinner with Nick Carter. Spent the night with Nick Carter and am now making plans to see Nick Carter for the whole day. How do you think I feel?” I asked ticking things off on my fingers. “Aren’t you glad that we came now, Kie?” Michelle wondered. “You have no idea how much. So, what are we going to do today?” I inquired looking from Tara to Michelle. “Let’s wait and see what the guys have in mind. But I am starved, can we go have breakfast?” Tara said. We all laughed and headed back inside. Brian and Nick were just finishing setting the table. “All right gentleman, have a seat.” I ordered as I walked into the kitchen. Tara and Michelle went to sit next to their respective favorites. I brought everything out to all of them and sat down beside Nick. “I hope you like everything.” “If last night is an indication, I am sure that we will love it.” Nick smiled at me. After everyone tasted everything and assured me it was fabulous, Kevin looked around at us girls. “So what did you ladies want to do today?” Tara looked at Kevin with such lust. “Ravish you.” she whispered. I tried to kick her under the table, but I wasn’t close enough. “Tara.” I looked over at Kevin, “What ever you guys decide is good. We don’t know Florida.” Tara blushed a deep red as she lowered her head. Kevin reached over and took her hand squeezing it tight. “Hey Nick, how is the boat?” “Great. Why don’t we take that out?” He said looking at me for confirmation. “That would be great. But can you take me back to the hotel first so that I can have a shower and change? I am sure that you want your clothes back.” I laughed, not really wanting to give them back. “You can keep them. They look better on you.” Nick smiled at me. Everyone else was just staring at us. At that point they knew something that we didn’t. “Actually Kie, we brought you some clothes and what not. If you want to shower here.” I looked at Nick for approval to use the bathroom, “That would be fine. You can use the shower first.” When Nick looked at me, my heart skipped a beat. Those blue eyes did so much for me. We all finished breakfast and then I quickly jumped into the shower. I let the warm water run over me as I tried to put into perspective what had happened over the last twenty four hours. When I agreed to go on this trip with Tara and Michelle, I never thought in a million years that I would ever meet Nick. It hadn’t even crossed my mind that he may have been at the Nintendo Championships. This was something so new to me, every time that I looked at Nick, those blue eyes hit me right in my heart. I couldn’t be feeling love for him, I hardly knew him. Although with all the talking that we did the night before, I knew him better than I did before. I also knew that it was going to be hard to leave Florida in three days. I didn’t want to leave Nick. But the promise of seeing him in Toronto was uplifting. I finished my shower and quickly did my hair. Nick and the others still needed the shower as well. When I went downstairs everyone was sitting outside. “Hey, I feel so much better.” I announced. “My turn.” Nick said getting up and walking past me. Our arms brushed, sending a shiver up my spine. “Have a seat.” he whispered pointing to the chair he just abandoned. |
