Chapter 6 

Over the next year I tried to get to see Kevin whenever I could. When he had some time off he would come and stay with me. Eric would try to get him into the studio to do an interview and occasionally he managed to do it. For a price. Hani and taken a big step and left Prague, moving in with Nick. He also left home and they found an apartment together over looking the beach. Allyson also had left her hometown and moved in with AJ. The four of them were so happy.

Kevin had asked me once if I wanted to move in with him, but I told him that I was happy with the way things were at the time. We had yet to be intimate with one another and I loved him for being so patient with me. I didn’t want to leave my job just yet. Circumstances changed that for me. The radio station that I worked for had been sold and the new owners were changing the format, thus eliminating my job. I was getting a huge severance package, so I wouldn’t be hurting for money. None the less, I was shocked when Eric told me. Kevin was coming that day to stay with me for a week. His flight was coming in late at night and when I left work for the last time, I got home and didn’t move from my couch.

Kevin had told me not to worry about coming to get him. He would just take a cab or something. I had held myself together pretty well, but when Kevin walked through the door, I lost it. I had given him a key a long time ago. He came to me and after seeing how upset I was, he dropped everything and took me in his arms.

“Syd, what’s wrong?” He asked as he rocked me from side to side.

“I got fired today.” I choked out.

“What? Why did they do that?”

I sat up and wiped my eyes, “Well remember when I told you that the station had been sold?” Kevin nodded his head in response. “The new owners are changing the format and they don’t need me anymore. So they told me that today was my last day, they gave me six months severance and that was it. I don’t have a job.” I finished as I started crying again.

“Well, then I guess this is my lucky day.” Kevin said.

“What?” I asked in disbelief. I had just told him that I was unemployed and he was sounding like it was a good thing. “How could you say something like that?”

“Syd, this is the perfect opportunity. You have nothing here now, move to Florida with me, start new.” He gushed.

I looked at him, there was such a fire in his eyes. It was so contagious, that before I knew what I was saying, I agreed to it. “I will.” I whispered. All the feelings of despair that I had vanished as I looked at the excitement in Kevin’s eyes.

“I should have had them fire you a long time ago.” Kevin joked.

“I don’t think so. The feeling of being fired is horrible. I never want to go through that again.” I said as I got up. “You know what, I am starving. Do you want something to eat?” I asked him as I went to the kitchen.

“Sure. What do you have?” He inquired as he walked behind me.

“Well, I took some pork out this morning. But after what happened today, I didn’t feel like cooking. But I am starving now. I think ...” I trailed off as I opened the fridge and found what I was looking for. I pulled everything out and started to make a small stir-fry.

Kevin stood by my side, leaning against the counter. “You amaze me, you know that.” He commented.

“Why is that?”

“Well, for starters, you lost your job today and after just a few words from me, you are happy. Plus, you can walk into a kitchen and make an amazing meal at the drop of a hat.” He explained.

“That’s because I am super woman.” I chuckled.

“I love you Sydney.” Kevin whispered.

I looked up at Kevin and saw something different in his eyes. We stood there, in the kitchen, neither one of us moving, just looking into the other’s eyes. I put the knife down that I was holding and moved closer to Kevin. I placed my hands on his arms that were crossed over his chest. I ran my hands up his arms and around his neck and pulled him to me.

There was something different in that kiss. Something different about Kevin’s trip this time. Nothing in a bad way, more like we were about to move onto the next level of our relationship. As I deepened the kiss, Kevin seemed to know what I was asking, without me actually having to ask. He picked me up and carried me to the bedroom. He gently placed me on my feet and looked at me.

“Is this what you want?” He asked me. All I could do was nod my head. I could feel myself trembling, but I wanted this. Kevin reached his hands up to my blouse that I hadn’t changed out of since I got home. He slowly unbuttoned it, his breathing catching every once in a while as his fingers touched my skin. When he reached the last button, he pushed my blouse off my shoulders, letting his fingers trail over my arms. I shivered just a little, from the cool air hitting me and the feel of his fingers.

I reached over and unbuttoned his jeans, tugging on the flap to open the zipper, I pulled his shirt up and over his head. This wasn’t the first time that I had seen Kevin half-naked, but this time, with the promise of so much more, it made me tingle to the tip of my toes. Kevin pulled me close to him and took control of my mouth. He kissed me with such a passion that it took my breath away.

Kevin trailed kisses down my neck taking in every piece of flesh that he could. I had no idea that a person could be turned on so much by kissing. His hands found the clip on my bra and quickly shed me of it. He took one breast in his hand and slowly ran his thumb over the small bud, which hardened instantly. He moved down and took it in his mouth.

I couldn’t help the small groan that escaped from the back of my throat. At the same that he was doing this, he slipped me out of my dress pants and lifted me onto the bed. I was still trembling as I watched him remove his own jeans. He walked to the other side of the bed and crawled over to me. He moved me to the center of the bed and pulled himself up onto his hands, like he was going to do a push up.

He lowered himself and kissed me again, moving ever so slowly down my body. His fingers had snaked their way into the waistband of my undies and pushed them down. I don’t know how he did it, but he got them off me completely barely moving from his position. He moved lower on my body and once I figured out what he was going to do, I reached for his head and stopped him.

“No?” He asked quietly.

“I’ve never done that.” I confessed.

“It’s your call. I can wait until you’re more comfortable with the idea.” He said.

“Let’s wait.” I whispered.

He moved back up and lay beside me taking me in his arms. He trailed his one hand down my body and quickly moved between my legs. On instinct I opened my legs wider, granting him access. Kevin knew what he was doing and while he worked his magic on me, I had pulled of his boxers and grasped him in my free hand, slowly massaging him.

I could feel this incredible ride beginning at the tip of my toes. A wave of pleasure was taking over my body. It felt as though I didn’t deserve it and I pushed myself into the bed to try and get away from it, but the feeling continued. I couldn’t escape it. I felt myself beginning to shake, my muscles every where contracting, I held tightly to Kevin’s free hand as I cried out his name. With every passing second I squeezed his hand tighter, until I was sure that I was hurting him. I tried with my other hand to move his hand away, but I couldn’t.

After a few minutes the waves were gone and I was overtaken by an amazing feeling of relaxation. I was still holding onto Kevin’s hand and breathing deeply. I tried to let go of his hand, but found that my fingers wouldn’t relax.

“Kevin, I can’t let go.” I whispered.

“What?”

“My fingers. I can’t move them.” I said.

“Here.” He asked as he pulled our hands toward him, he gently pried my fingers away from his hand, massaging them. “There. It must have been good.”

I didn’t answer him, I pulled him over so that he was once again on top of me. “Are you ready for this.” He asked with concern.

I smiled up at him and placed one hand on his face, “It’s now or never. I’d rather have now.” I whispered.

Gently, Kevin pushed himself into me. I held my breath, knowing that it was gonna hurt, there was a slight pain, but once Kevin started his rhythm, I forgot about it. He was slow at first, making sure that he didn’t hurt me. I couldn’t believe that this was what it was like. There was nothing animal about this. It certainly surpassed anything that I had remembered about Chuck. I was thinking too hard, analyzing it and not paying attention to what was going on. I hadn’t noticed that Kevin had quickened his pace. When he shifted his position a little, I focused on what he was doing. I opened my eyes and looked up at his face, his eyes were closed and he was concentrating on what was going on. I read his face and when I saw that the same waves of pleasure were coming over him, I tensed my body, making sure that every muscle contracted.

“Oh God. Sydney.” He moaned in my ear as he collapsed on top of me. We lay for several minutes before Kevin moved again. Then he rolled over and pulled me close to him. “Are you okay?”

I snuggled into his arm and smiled, my head resting on his chest. “Never better. I hadn’t realized that it could be so ... pleasurable.” I giggled. “Was it good for you?”

“Very. It’s been a long time since I’ve done this.” He laughed.

It was then that my stomach growled a little and I remembered what I was doing before we got distracted. “Are you hungry now? I still have all that food laying on the counter.” I said as I sat up.

“Ravenous. Let’s go make something.” Kevin replied as he too got up.

For the week that Kevin was with me, we packed, I gave my notice with the landlord and they were extremely nice with the short notice. Kevin actually offered to hire a cleaning service to come and have it professionally done. I accepted on the terms of paying half. We didn’t tell the others that I was moving in with Kevin, we wanted to surprise them. The day before we were to fly back to Florida, we shipped all of my belongings down. Kevin had said that there was lots of room to store everything in the garage until we found a storage place or if we decided to get a house together. Right now I was moving in with him, Howie and Brian.

Brian was the one that picked us up at the airport. He looked very surprised to see me. As we gathered our bags I explained to him what had happened. “So Kevin convinced me that I should move in with him. Is that okay with you?” I finished. I wasn’t keen on the idea of moving in without Howie and Brian’s permission, but I knew that they would understand.

“Okay with me? Are you kidding, it’s about time that you did!” He laughed as he pulled me into a hug. “But how are we going to get all this into my jeep?”

We managed to get everything in and made it to the house just as Ally and AJ were arriving. They were just as surprised to see me there as Brian was. Hani and Nick were at the house as well and once everyone got over the shock of seeing me, I explained to them what happened and what Kevin and I had decided. They were all thrilled for us. And once the guys went out to the patio and started thinking about a barbecue for dinner, us girls caught up on everything.

“You are sure that this is what you want?” Allyson asked with an asked question.

“I am. I had nothing left there, except family, but I would rather be here with Kevin.” I explained, not giving anything more away. I was going to let them sweat a little. Ally had been sleeping with AJ from the first trip when they flew us down. Hani had been sleeping with Nick since they moved in together.

“So, how was the week with Kevin?” Hani questioned.

“Fine. We mostly packed up my apartment and what not. He helped me get over being fired. It was a little hard at first, but then I looked into those eyes and everything seemed to disappear.” I said.

“And that is it, nothing else happened?” Ally pushed.

Everyone was wondering when it was going to happen. I was even willing to bet that they had a bet about it. They all understood that it was hard for me since Chuck raped me, they never came right out and asked, they just assumed that I would tell them when it happened.

“What are you talking about Ally?” I asked vaguely as I turned around and headed for the fridge.

Her and Hani looked at one another and smiled, “You did it, didn’t you?” She accused with a smile.

“Did what?” I reached into the fridge for a bottle of water. I turned around to see Hani and Ally staring at me. I took a big gulp of water. “What?”

“You know what, you and Kevin finally made love.” Hani said.

I couldn’t keep the smile off my face. I slowly nodded my head, “Yes we did.”

“EEEEE!!!” They both screamed and jumped over to me to hug me.

They each took a hand and lead me over to the couch. “Tell us all about it.” Ally encouraged.

“It just sort of happened. He had just come from the airport, I was still in shock over being fired. We talked, he convinced me that it was the perfect time to move here with him. There was something in his eyes. Such an excitement.” I started, trailing off as I remembered.

“So he threw you on the floor in the heat of the moment, right?” Hani interrupted my thoughts.

“No. Kevin is hardly the throw and get right down to it kind of guy. I realized that I was hungry. I pretty much came home from work and sat on the couch. That’s where he found me when he came in. I hadn’t changed from my work clothes, hadn’t had dinner. So I offered to make something for the two of us. He talked with me in the kitchen, I was in the middle of chopping up vegetables and I looked up at him. It was amazing, there was a different feeling around us, an excitement, I stopped what I was doing and kissed him.” I smiled at them both, “Then he carried me to the bedroom.” I finished.

“And you are okay?” Ally asked.

“I’m fine. It was obviously so unlike what I experienced with Chuck. He was so gentle, so loving. He made sure that he wasn’t hurting me, that I was enjoying the moment. It was fantastic.” I whispered. Just at that moment, the guys all came back inside, from the looks on their faces, I knew that they had questioned Kevin as well and knew what had happened.
