ABOUT US

Well Hani convinced me that there should be something in here about me. I want to remain as anonymous as possible though. But you can call me Leanne anyway. So what can I tell you?

Well since this site has started, a few things have changed. The most recent and biggest was that I now have a son. He is the light of my life. And my husband's. Right now he has been around for almost 7 weeks and it feels like he has been around forever. He is the cutest baby I have seen. And I am not just saying that. Honest. A lot of babies are ugly when they are born, but I can assure you all that he is very cute. Hani will back me up on that, right Hani? LOL! (Hanka's note: Yes, I can tell you, Alex is just beautiful!)

Anyway, I will remember that day for the rest of my life. The pregnancy was harder than the labour. And I can assure you again that when they say the harder the pregnancy, the easier the labour, IT'S TRUE! (a little BSB song in there, ha ha!) From start to finish my labour was 10 hours. And that is extremely good for a first baby.

And let me say this to any of you ladies that see this and are pregnant or will be in the future - GET THE EPIDURAL! It takes all the pain away, it saved me because my labour was starting to go into my back and that is the last thing that you want.

Anyway, Alexander Douglas was born at exactly 10pm on October 5. He weighed 8lbs 4 1/2oz and was 20 1/2 inches long. Now 7 weeks later he weighs 11 1/2lbs and is 23 inches long. So he is growing so fast.

As long as you guys can stand it I will occasionally update you on him. And as long as I can remember to. That other saying about pregnancy is true, you get very forgetful!

Anyway, I love pop music and back in my teenage days, New Kids on the Block was the flavor of the month. Where a lot of you are with the Backstreet Boys, that is where I was with the New Kids. They were my life. So I understand what most of you are going through.

I started to like the Backstreet Boys back in late 1998. A late believer I know, but it was a whole denial thing about betraying the New Kids. Please don’t ask me to explain it anymore. I can’t and it seems a little silly to me now.

But then I started to listen to their music and it was something that I hadn’t heard for awhile and I fell in love with the music. Then I saw their faces. Brian’s first. Love at first sight. Then I saw Nick, well, what can we say about Nick. How can you not love that man? Then I went a little off my regular track and fell for AJ and Howie respectively. Then Kevin and now I am back at Brian.

I met Hani at backstreet.net, back in August of ‘99. She lives in Prague, Czech Republic and had seen the VIVA Interactiv and had it on tape. She had sent a review into backstreet.net and at that point I was desperate for anything that I could get on the guys. I e-mailed her and asked for a copy. We started talking and the rest is history. No kidding that at the beginning we were sending 8 page e-mails a couple of times a week.

I also met Andrea there. I sent in an opinion on the books that the guys’ ex-girlfriends were putting out, I mentioned in there about being married and she sent me an e-mail and history again. Andrea and I talk via e-mail once a day at least and over the phone once every few weeks, she only lives in the States so it is cheap.

I treasure these two women and don’t know what I would do without them. And I know that they are both going to read this, so I won’t get too mushy.

I usually am very private with my stories, but Hani convinced me to send them to her and she raved about them. She loves them, one day she said that I should send them to the guys. I said the only way I would was if I could do it in person, explain a few things to them and watch them as they were read. I would love to see the reactions that they had to some things. Especially Brian’s and Kevin’s stories. You will see why.

Then one day Hani mentioned about putting my stories on the net. I wasn’t sure at first, but then I thought, why not. I can be anonymous about it. I can get a general e-mail address and change the names and no one will know it is me. Except those that I choose to let in.

So with all of Hani’s hard work, we got this site up and running. Thank you oh so much Hani, this wouldn’t be possible without you and you know it. The layout and all that stuff was both mine and Hani’s ideas. Getting it all up here for you to see was her.

I hope you enjoy it.

If you have anything, feel free to e-mail me.

And here goes my and Hani's questionnaire:

Name: We use Leanne for this site. It is actually my middle name, so it is me
Nicknames:
Well that depends, Hani and "Kristin" call me Roni, my husband calls me Ducky when he wants something and everyone else just calls me by name. Once in a while I get a nasty one, but we don't want those here.
Birthday:
July 26, 1973
Birthplace:
Thompson, Manitoba, Canada (so far up North that I am surprised my pillow wasn't a polar bear)
Astrological Sign:
Leo
Height:
Somewhere around 5'10" or something like that.
Parents:
Gordon and Sandra, Bob
Siblings:
Sheri (30) and a couple of step ones that I have never talked to, let alone met
Hometown:
As much as I hate to admit it Leduc, Alberta, Canada (a little hole about 20 minutes south of Edmonton)
Day Job:
Right now, receptionist for a group of lawyers. Soon to be on maternity leave
Kind of Car I Drive:
A red Chevrolet Cavalier. That is almost 10 years old and is now deciding that everything needs to be replaced. (Six brakes, two alternators, some coolant crap etc ...)
Favorite Website:
I have a few. This one is the one I am the most dedicated to, because well it is mine. But other than that, I would have to say that most of them are Backstreet related
Favorite City:
Used to be Boston, Mass. Now, I don't know
Favorite Color:
Black, white, dark blue, dark green, purple
Favorite TV Show:
I used to have one for like almost every night of TV,
but since Melrose and 90210 have been cancelled, I have only for
Thursday now. That would be ER and Friends
Favorite Song:
Other than a Backstreet song, I would have to say there isn't too many. I will listen to Garth on occasion and just pick my faves of his, or Rod Stewart, and although I haven't done it in a while, New Kids on the Block.
Pet Peeves:
HA! You name it. Mostly though people who don't drive as fast as I do. If you can't at least do 10 over the speed limit, get the hell out of my way! And people who wear black pants, black shoes and white socks! This one just annoys the piss out of me. And the guys are
a BIG example of that.

Name: Hanka
Nicknames:
I don't have any, and if I do, it's very difficult to even translate it. Most people call me Hani anyway.
Birthday:
January 19, 1979
Birthplace:
Prague, Czechoslovakia
Astrological Sign:
Capricorn
Height:
1.68m (5'7")
Parents:
Eva and Karel
Siblings:
Petra (20), but for some reason we call her Kat :-)
Hometown:
Prague, Czech Republic (this sounds kind of strange, living in the same city as I was born, but in a DIFFERENT country... But that's just the way it is)
Day Job: Production a
ssistant in a Czech weekly magazine. It's a soft tabloid. We like to call it that way anyway. I really like this job.
Kind of Car I Drive:
Nah, I don't have a car. I have a driving licence, but don't ask because I am not much of a good driver.

Favorite Website: There's like tons of those. Some of Backstreet related also. Though I am not completely up to date as far as BSB anymore. It's not like I wouldn't be a fan of them anymore, it's just that my life has moved on and I have other things to do and follow than just these guys, who were basically my life a couple years ago.
Favorite City:
Monte Carlo, Monaco; Vienna, Austria; Capri, Italy & I love the Alps. New York City sounds kind of magical to me, it's a dream of mine to visit that place someday. I also like my hometown of Prague.
Favorite Color:
Black, white, dark blue, beige
Favorite TV Show:
That's very difficult to say, since I don't watch "normal" TV channels very often (MTV and VIVA, that's what I am living for LOL!). But let's say (as of now) Dawson's Creek (Joshua Jackson really reminds me of my very first love). Kinda cheesy, I know :-) Also used to be BH 902 10, but it was a LONG time ago. And well, I like those Pop Idol contest and what not. It's just pure fun to watch.
Favorite Song/Artist: Other than Backstreet, I like Westlife, Shania Twain, Robbie Williams, Celine Dion, The Corrs, Craig David, Westlife.... As for a favorite song, right now (as of July 2003), it would be Ka-ching! by Shania, Love Should Be A Crime (I know it's an older song) by O-Town, Aisha by Outlandish, Something Beautiful by Robbie Williams & of course my all time favorite Angels by ... Robbie Williams again:o)
Pet Peeves:
There's too many to name...
